The Love-Hate Relationship With My Body

In an effort to fall in love with myself, I’m writing about my body today.

For all of my life, I have been struggling with my weight.  Who doesn’t?  Even the models we aspire to be have issues with theirs.  I’ve lost track of all the times I’ve looked in the mirror, only to begin listing all the things that are wrong with it.

My belly is too big, my arms are too jiggly, and I have more chins than a woman should have. Avoiding mirrors is now my favorite sport.  Shopping for clothes has become a chore, rather than a treat. Being plus size has become a way of life.

I have discovered a way of maneuvering my body in just the right way, so people don’t realize just how big I am.  No running, or jumping.  Wearing shirts long enough to cover my belly.  Only shirts with sleeves, please!  Standing in the back of a group photo so I won’t be seen directly.

I started to feel like the way people treated me was because of my size, and that I deserved it. Even introducing myself to new people can freak me out because I’m afraid they’ll remember me as “the fat one.”  I have become so aware of my size without actually looking at myself, that I’m almost afraid of losing weight.

Those thoughts got me thinking. Hating my body isn’t going to get me anywhere.  And while I still have room for improvement, I should love my body now.  Rather than put it down for the things my body is not, I should love it for the things it is.

My body created a beautiful, smart and intelligent boy.  My body allows me to have a job and earn money for my family.  It allows me to simply be a creature on this earth and live.  Without my body, my son wouldn’t have a mother.

Yes, there is more of me to love.  Who wouldn’t want that?

To anyone out there who may be struggling like me, just remember that it is totally okay to love the skin you’re in while you try to change it.  There will be good and bad days, and it may take longer than you like.  But the end result is going to be a masterpiece of hard work and dedication.  That is enough motivation for me to start to love myself, and I hope it is for you, too.

I’m just going to start by saying, this is my very first blog post so please bear with me…

Today I want to talk to you all about gratitude and what it is to me. As you may know, my family and I have recently begun a new journey. Well, a journey that we’ve been on all along, we just weren’t aware of it.

Have you ever heard of the Law of Attraction? If not, well just know that that shit is real! Everything that I know and continue to learn about all comes from Kathrin Zenkina aka Manifestation Babe. She has taught me so much, and I’m going to start with what I think is the most important, which is gratitude.

Gratitude is the strongest manifestation emotion that there is; and what I mean by that is: you have the power to create or attract ANYTHING you can imagine, and it all starts with being grateful. Literally though, anything. Don’t believe me? That’s cool. I was hesitant too, but as I continued to listen, learn, and comprehend what the law of attraction is exactly and how gratitude plays a major role into it, there’s no way I couldn’t believe it!

Gratitude to me is, simply put, being grateful for everything you have and giving as much as possible to as many as possible. The more you give, the more you get and let’s be honest, who doesn’t love giving someone a gift and seeing them smile?

Another belief I like to live by is like attracts like, and it makes perfect sense. If you’re always having negative thoughts and getting frustrated by every little thing, you will never be positive or live a happy life (I would know).

So, I want to end this by saying thank you, I’m so grateful to anyone who reads this and you deserve to be happy. We all do.

Join me next Thursday, as I will be letting you know what I have manifested for myself since starting our new journey.

You can pick up Kathrin’s book “Unleash Your Inner Babe” on Amazon using the link below and you can learn how to manifest $1000 in 21 days.
